What did I do?

I just got a hotel and a ticket for my 10th high school reunion. I’m scared to death. This would be so much easier if Jeff was here to hold my hand. I really wish I could take him and show him off. Of course I called up my friend from HS and he said I could hang out with him so I won’t be all alone. I really only talk to 3 people from my grade, and 3 other people from the school, other than my sister. It will be fun though, lol especially now that I’m married and have a job It shouldn’t matter, but it does.

If he was here we wouldn’t have a problem…I’d ask him to get off so we could go, and either we would, or we wouldn’t, but he’s not here…so I have to be a big girl and go by myself. I will have fun seeing everyone, and now that I can hang out with Jerry I don’t have to worry about being all alone in the corner of the room. It will be interesting to see how everyone turned out, and I’ll get to go to my church, and see some other friends, so that’s cool. I’ll also get to see 2 of my friends pregnant so that’s exciting.

A white lie church cake…funny

A White Lie Church Cake!

Do you know any one who has ever told a white lie,
about baking for a Church Sale?
If so, you are going to love this —
especially all of you ladies who bake for church events.

Alice was to bake a cake for the church ladies’ group bake sale,
but she forgot to do it until the last minute.

She baked an angel food cake and when she took it from the oven,
the center had dropped flat.

She said, “Oh dear, there’s no time to bake another cake.”

So, she looked around the house for something to
build up the center of the cake.

Alice found it in the bathroom … a roll of toilet paper.

She plunked it in and covered it with icing.

The finished product looked beautiful,
so she rushed it to the church.

Before she left the house,
Alice had given her daughter some money
and specific instructions to be at the bake sale the minute it opened,
and to buy that cake and bring it home.

When the daughter arrived at the sale,
the attractive cake had already been sold.

Alice was beside herself.

The next day, Alice was invited to a friend’s
home where two tables of bridge were to be played that afternoon.

After the game, a fancy lunch was served, and to top it off,
the cake in question was presented for dessert.
Alice saw the cake,
she started to get out of her chair to rush into
the kitchen to tell her hostess all about it,
but before she could get to her feet, one of the other ladies said,
“What a beautiful cake!”

Alice sat back in her chair when she heard the hostess
(who was a prominent church member) say

“Thank you, I baked it myself.”

I’m free, I’m free

No more work for me to do today. I’m relieved, and disappointed. I’m trying to get as close to 40 hours a week as I can, and it’s hard. It’s a lot harder to sit here and work at home than it is to sit in an office at work. When you work with other people, you can stop and talk-or even stop and talk to your customers. When you work at home you are working by yourself. You have to sit there and work, and give your employer those 8 hours. No leisurely coffee breaks-no regular breaks either. Of course it’s been a really long time since I had scheduled breaks, but I could get up and walk around a little, or get some water, and fix my food without worrying about getting “caught”. Now, I am pretty much sitting here the whole 4 hours, with only really quick bathroom or drink breaks. I try to only work 4 hours at a time because that’s about how long my attention span is, or how long I can work without needing to stand up and walk around some. It’s a big difference. I feel like I have so much more time now that I am only working 8 hours a day-as opposed to constantly looking for work, and worrying about how I was going to get money-of course Jeff doesn’t mind, but I want to contribute, and I feel bad when I can’t. I was suprised at first at how tired I felt the first (ok the only week so far) week that I worked 8 hours straight. Oops, telemarketer I lost my train of thought. So bye.

SEO Class

OK! The SEO class starts tomorrow. I came on at the tail end, so I’m ready to get started. I’ve read a few messages, but not many since I knew we were at the end of the group. It can be a little confusing since they keep the group open continuously and you don’t really know where you are when you join. I was kind of thinking about waiting for the next class anyways, since I don’t have much time, so it was great that I just signed up over the weekend, and came right at the end.
