Note to self. It’s not a good idea to attend two audio seminars at the same time. Did you know that even if you have two seperate seminars, with different conferencing software up, you can’t turn the volume on one down? Nope, if you try to turn the volume down one one seminar, they both go down. Fortunately one is so quiet that I can listen to it and not worry about the other. Ok, while I was writing I realized how stupid I was being, so I logged out of one. I really wanted to go to the one, but I think the other one, at Networking University is going to be more beneficial to my business. I’m really thinking about building a team for White Lily. I want to, but I also want to be a good team leader, and I’m trying to figure out how to do that.
Networking University is pretty cool. You do have to sign up for an account, but they don’t send too too much mail-part of it is because I signed up for all of the seminars I get an email reminding me of the seminar, then I get a follow up email about the seminar. Which I’ve never filled out. Oops. I do have to reinstall the chat software everytime, but it doesn’t take too long. I haven’t really checked out more of the website, I probably should when I ever get enough time.
Of course I’m typing this and listening to the seminar. I’ve heard a lot about listening to prospects this week. I’m still a little scared to call someone and try to get them to join…but maybe one day. I know I need to work on slowing down and listening to people. I’m a little better with small talk after my last job, but I’m still so shy I’m not good at it.
Ok, off to listen to the (one) seminar, and check email. LOL and the jewelry site is up, as ususal. I haven’t been keeping it up as much lately. It used to always be on, even if I forgot about it for an hour.

Well, I just got the two designs of etailers mall to choose from. They were both really great, and I although I loved the second one, I decided to go with the first one because it was more professional. I am really excited. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. And it looks like a logo will be included too, and I really wanted a professional logo for Etailers mall, so I am really excited. When I first read the ad, I didn’t think that graphics were included, now it looks like they are.
Duh! I just now realized that I might get some exposure from being in the web design portfolio. So that will be great. I’m not too sure how things are supposed to work, so after everything is done I will post the name of the design firm and everything. I am really impressed, everything has been so easy. I’m used to doing business solely online for work, but I’m still impressed at how easy everything has been so far. Plus the designs that I was given to choose from were actually online so I could really see what it would look like once I got the site up and make it mine. Don’t ask how I was expecting them to show it to me…but I really didn’t expect to be able to click on a link and see it, and go and look around. Can you tell I’m excited.

What is wrong with people? There was just a story on the news where a woman went to pick up her 7 month old from daycare, and found no one there…and all the lights off. Apparently the daycare owner had left to take care of a school project, and told her husband that there was a child still there. In the police report the husband stated that he was unaware that any children were still there. The crazy thing is that the mom seemed more upset that the baby was in the dark, than the fact that no one knew the baby was there…
Then last week a child at an (unlicensed) home daycare center had a tv fall on his head. And the daycare center owner wasn’t even home!
If you are a daycare center owner, why would you leave a child in the dark? Why would you leave the daycare while there were still children there! I’m sorry but you have to have some problems if you think that’s ok. You are the licensed daycare provider-or at least the person who these people think will be watching their children. What makes you think that it is ok to leave them with someone else?
People just drive me crazy sometimes. I don’t have kids yet, but if I did, and if I took my kids to a small daycare center, and thought that one person was watching the kids then I came back and found out that there was someone I didn’t know, or worse, no one at all, watching the kids I would be fighting mad.
Uggh, I’m so upset I don’t know what to say.

How often do you check your websites? I just started building websites in the past 6 months, and I really didn’t know too much about the smaller direct sales companies until then either. But there is a direct sales company that closed in January, and I just went to a website that had an ad for that business, and had it listed as one of the websites sponsors. Now me being as nosy as I am-clicked the link, and it didn’t work. I’ve never been to this website before, and I really don’t think that I’d go back again. After all, if you can’t take a company that shut down in the middle of the night 6 months ago off of your website, then I don’t think you’re keeping the website up to date enough for me to want to get information from you. The strange thing to me is that it apparently this was a big deal when the business closed, yet I’ve seen the business listed several places-there are still forums which have the company listed..I personally think it would be easier to click the button and delete the whole forum for that business, but at least put a notice up saying the company is defunct so people won’t be posting messages about how to get involved with a business 3 months after it closed. I’ve also seen people calling for that company to be a vendor at a vendor fair, or to be a sponsor for other sites…now it’s mainly in lists of direct sales companies, but I would still want to know a little about the companies I was thinking about sending my customers too, and I would like to think that I care enough about my business to check and make sure every thing is up to date. I’m sure you get busy, and forget to do things…but still… 6 months is a long time to be advertising a dead business.

Well, I finally decided to order some boots from zappos…who knows why, since I can never find any shoes that fit me in the store. Of course they didn’t fit
they were gorgeous though. I guess I’ll get to see how well their return policy works.
Fun, fun.
I’ve taken to listening to conference call and business radio stuff at work. Some of it is actually very interesting. Which is amazing to me since I hate talk radio. I’ve been listening to Dani Johnson, at danijohnson.com, wahm talk radio, and direct sales talk radio. So far most of the stuff has been very useful. I’m hoping to find some more exciting stuff later. I tried today, but I was having trouble with music match jukebox, the stuff would download, but I couldn’t hear it, or it would stop after 5 minutes, which is really annoying when you can’t fastforward, and have to listen to the same stuff over and over again. The error message on the jukebox thing kept saying to uninstall it, then reinstall it, and when I uninstalled it, everything worked fine, so I just left it uninstalled. Oops.

this is our boring house hunting entry
I figured it’s one way to keep track of all the houses we see. And yeah, I’m gonna post comments to myself? Is this crazy? You decide…
