Halloween Makeup

Monday, October 31st, 2005

It’s Halloween, my amaretto and truffles candle is scenting the house, and there are reports of haunted houses on the news.

I’m impatiently waiting to see if I get any trick or treaters. We don’t have an official time this year, but last year it was from 6-8 or 6-9, but I didn’t get anyone until after that time period was over.

I’m not dressing up, but I did decide to at least do my makeup a little wilder than normal.

I used my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind foundation, jane blushing glow blush, and to be a little on the wild side, I used Twisted Fayte’s Foam piggie as a wash, with backstapper used wet as a liner. It looks pretty cool. Unfortunately I don’t think Twisted Fayte has these piggies, but foam is a pale, green shadow with shimmer. Backstabber is rather unusual, I thought it was olive green, but when I opened the baggie (they are samples) it was a shimmery purple. It looks like a dark green on my eyelids though.

This look definitely called for mascara, so I used Clinique’s Lash Doubling Mascara in black. I always wear black mascara, even though everyone says not to. If I use brown I look ike I’m not wearing any mascara at all.

I also used Jane Lipstick in Kiss of Caramel - this is the only lipstick that I’ve ever used more than one tube of. This color wasn’t exactly right with the rest of the makeup, so I pulled out my Loreal So Delice in cherry cola, which is a sheer red. The two looked great together, and I will definitely be trying this look again.

And for all of you that are cold out there - my AC is off and it’s 79 inside. I had to turn on the fan, I’m hot.

I’m such a kid, I just peeked out the window and I see a lantern bobbing down the street, I hope they come to my house :-)

Off to wait!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone has a great day today!

I, for one, am excited that Halloween is almost over!

It will be so strange not to hear maniacal laughter, creepy music, and strange voices, and of course, the ever present screams of terror coming from the Haunted House down the street, but it will be great to go to sleep without those sounds dancing in my head.

Tomorrow starts NaNoWriMo, I can’t wait to get started! I have about 500 ideas, so I guess I’m just going to write and see what happens.

Wish me luck :-)

I won, I won!

Wednesday, October 26th, 2005

I got the most wonderful suprise today! A package from Lucky arrived on my doorstep!

I had no idea what was going on, since I wasn’t expecting anything!

If you read my ice cream pants post you might remember me alluding to an aerosoles contest!

I won it and got a pair of beautiful new brown boots from Aerosoles and Lucky.

I was so excited that I couldn’t sit still all afternoon.

This totally made my day!

The amazing thing is that they actually fit! I’ve been looking for boots for years, and I finally found one dressy pair last month. These are more practical, and although they are brown suede (I’m a black shoe kind of girl) boots with a wedge heel, I love them! It’s so much more fun to get shoes that I’d never pick out for myself, and find out that I actually like them.

I only wore them around the house this afternoon, but they seem comfortable. I’m definitely going to wear them when I go out this week.

I do have to fill out a survey, but hey, I’d fill out this survey every day if I got a new pair of shoes!

So far there’s no word on any ulterior motives (or ice cream pants) from Aerosoles.

But I’ll definitely let you know if I hear from them-after I pick myself up off the floor, where I’ve fallen after laughing half to death :-)

Halloween

Thursday, October 20th, 2005

As I step outside into the warm evening air, a loud, deep voice beckons “Welcome!”

I hear the eerie sounds of a spooky tune, and a shiver runs up my spine.

I know soon I will be inside, locked safely inside my house, and I hope that the walls of my house will muffle the screams I know will soon begin.

Screams of terror, that start as soon as darkness falls, and continue through the wee hours of the night.

For Halloween has come, with it’s ghost and vampires. Halloween, with its witches and ghouls.

Halloween has come, with it’s haunted houses.

One of which happens to be located a block behind mine.

Let’s Go To The Beach

Wednesday, October 19th, 2005

It was such a beautiful day today :-) I finally got to put the top down while I was driving, so I’m excited :-)

If Jeff was here I would have drug him to the beach with me.

LOL, I think if I’d actually worked some this week, instead of just starting today, I would have went ahead and gone without him.

National Novel Writing Month

Wednesday, October 19th, 2005

OK, I did it! I signed up to write a novel in a month at National Novel Writing Month, aka NaNoWriMo! I must be feeling adventurous today.

I’m excited, and nervous. I’ve never written a novel before :-) I’m sure this one won’t be the greatest in the world, but it will be fun. And the sheer fact that you have to write at least 50,000 words in a month, with no real regard to plot and character and all that jazz lessons the need for perfection.

I’m excited, and I’ll keep you updated. If you want to join go ahead :-)

The month starts Nov 1st, and you have until Nov 30th to write and turn in 50,000 words. Go ahead and give it a try!

You Know Your Hair’s Too Long When…

Sunday, October 16th, 2005

You’re combing your hair and thinking it feels a little longer than usual, then you look down and realize it’s not your hair your combing. It’s the drawstrings on your pants!
