I recently received the BillyB light weight aluminim lidless, retractable lip brush.
The lip brush really is light weight, and has survived being tossed around in my purse for a few weeks with no problems.
I love that this is a lidless brush - you can open the brush and start applying you lip gloss or lipstick without wasting a few seconds doing something with the lid.
It may sound silly, but if you’ve ever been stuck in a public restroom waiting for someone to finish touching up their makeup so you can wash your hands, you know what I mean.
With the lidless brush you don’t have to worry about the lid accidentally coming off in your purse while you’re out, leaving you stuck with a fuzzy lip brush and no lipcolor until you get back home.
The lip brush is also great to use when you’re looking for a more precise way to apply your lipcolor, or if your looking for a sheerer wash of color.
When I use the lip brush I can get a much lighter coat of lipgloss than I can get with the applicators that come with my lipgloss.
This is great when I want to wear my favorite gloss, with a t-shirt and jeans.
Before I started using the lip brush, the gloss was too dark for me - when I apply it with the brush it’s perfect.
Of course, if I’m looking for a more intense color I can use the lip brush to add more color.
Billy B’s lip brush is also great if you’ve run into problems with a leaky lipgloss tube that you don’t want to carry around in your purse.
Just add some gloss to your lip brush, toss it in the purse, and you’re ready to go.
No fuss, no mess, no leaks.

Makeup artists and magazines always say that blondes should wear brown mascara, because black is too harsh.
I’ve been wearing black mascara since I was in my teens, because if I wear brown mascara you can’t see my eyelashes.
Well there was that stage in junior high when I thought blue mascara was really cool and I wore blue instead of black, but we won’t get into that.
I’m sure there are some blondes out there who don’t like the look of black mascara, but I wear mascara because I want people who are a foot away from me to actually be able to tell that I do have eyelashes.
If I wear brown mascara you can’t tell that I have lashes, and I look washed out.
What color are your lashes, and what color is your mascara?
Are there any blondes out there that only wear brown mascara?

I ran across a press release for Makeup Mondo this morning, and I’m really glad I did, because I’m always looking for great makeup tutorials.
Makeup Mondo offers free video makeup video lessons by celebrity makeup artists.
I really like how Makeup Mondo shows you color swatches of the colors it uses before they start applying the makeup (my idea of a plummy brown wasn’t the same as theirs), and how it shows you pictures of the brushes they use for the look, before they start applying the makeup.
I’ve only looked at two videos so far - Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Lopez eye looks, but the videos are close enough to the eyes so that you really can see what the makeup artist is doing.
I’ll definitely be back there.
I haven’t signed up yet, so I’m not sure how that process works, but otherwise the site looks great.

I never could stand not washing my face at night.
It always felt oily and greasy and gross.
And then…
I moved to Minnesota.
It’s a lot easier to convince yourself that you need to wash your face at night when you can turn on the water faucet and instantly have tepid water that quickly warms up.
It’s a lot harder to convince yourself that you need to wash your face when it’s -22 outside, and it takes at least a minute for the ice cold water coming out of the faucet to warm up enough to use it on your face without risking broken capillaries or just plain freezing to death.
I’ve been trying to do it anyways, but I have to admit there have been a couple of times when I haven’t washed my face at night because the water is just too cold.
And so far there have been no ill effects.
Do you ever skimp on washing your face?
I’m sure if I’d tried to skip a face wash when I was younger and had oiler skin I would have had some pretty bad side effects.
Fortunately, I’m not having that problem now, but I really am going to start washing my face every night.
I promise.
