Origins Peace of Mind Review

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Origins Peace of Mind On-the-spot reliefOrigins Peace of Mind on-the-spot relief, $10, is made to help release pressure and tension - just massage a little into the back of your neck, temples, and earlobes and you’ll feel better.

This really did help me feel better briefly when I’ve had headaches - there’s just something about the pepperminty scent.

I also like the plastic tube that goes around the neck of the bottle, to keep you from accidentally pumping product. Now I don’t have to worry about Peace of Mind getting all over my bag when I carry it around in my purse.

After all, usually when I get headaches, I’m not at home, so Peace of Mind isn’t going to do me any good if it isn’t there.

Origins will be donating $35,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation from North American Sales of this product throughout October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Bobbi Brown Pink Ribbon Collection Lip Set Review

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Bobbi Brown Pink Ribbon Collection Lip SetThe Bobbi Brown Pink Ribbon Collection Lip Set, $40, consists of Bobbi Brown’s top selling Tulle Lip Color, and an exclusive Pink Glitter Lip Gloss.

The lipstick and lip gloss apply smoothly, and evenly and they don’t have a noticeable fragrance.

The lip gloss has a wand applicator instead of the typical doe foot applicator, and I really like it, mainly because I don’t have to worry about discoloring the applicator when I apply the lip gloss over lip stick.

Bobbi Brown Pink Ribbon Collection Tulle and Pink Glitter Lip Gloss Color SwatchesAlthough the gloss is a pink glitter lip gloss the glitter isn’t chunky, or overhwelming - it provides a nice even shimmer.

The gloss and lipstick look great together.

This limited edition set was created in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Bobbi Brown will be donating $35000 in connection with the North American sales of the Pink Ribbon Collection to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Lab Series Skincare Daily Moisture Defense Lotion Review

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Lab Series Skincare Daily Moisture Defense LotionMy husband, Jeff, graciously offered to try the Treat Lab Series Daily Moisture Defense Lotion with SPF 15, $37.50. I was actually surprised at how easily he agreed to try it for me.

Jeff has normal skin that gets dry in the cold Minnesota winters.

He doesn’t normally wear moisturizer.

We’ve only had the Daily Moisture Defense Lotion for a few days, but while he’s been using it he hasn’t had any trouble, other than accidentally squeezing too much lotion out of the tube.

The lotion applies smoothly without fragrance, and Jeff hasn’t noticed any oiliness from the lotion.

Here’s what Lab Series says about the lotion:

All-day moisturization and environmental defense for fresher, healthier-looking skin.

Lightweight moisture lotion continuously hydrates, smoothes and reconditions skin.

Breakthrough technology delivers solar-activated protection from harmful UVA/UVB rays, smoke and pollution.

Anti-oxidants help guard against the signs of aging.

For all skin types.

Lab Series Skincare for Men will be making a donation of $10,00 in connection with the sales of the Daily Moisture Defense Lotion to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

If you’ve tried this lotion I’d love to hear what you think about it.

Leave a comment and let me know.

bbn_cure_forweb.jpgJust say hi, or share why Breast Cancer awareness is important to you - you can also share some of the more unique Breast Cancer awareness fundraisers that you’ve heard of with us.

You’re probably wondering why there are a bunch of bras in the picture on this post.

The Hotel Donaldson in Fargo, ND has a fundraiser called Bras On Broadway which raises money for the American’s Cancer Society for breast cancer research.

It’s kind of funny to see the bras floating in the wind :-).

I heard about the fundraiser last night on TV, so I went out this morning and took pictures!

So - leave a comment - and help donate to breast cancer research.

And don’t forget to visit Makeup Junkie before Wednesday, and Brain Spam between October 22-25 and leave a comment during their Comments 4 A Cure.

Milani Lipstick Review

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Milani Lavish Velvet Cream Lipcolor, Fuchsia Freeze Color Perfect Lipstick, Sexy Rose Color Perfect Lipcolor swatchesMy favorite Milani Lipcolor (as they call it) or lipstick (as I call it) formula, is the Milani Velvet Cream Lipcolor.

I tried the lipcolor in Lavish, and I was impressed with how creamy and moist it was.

The lipstick is a little more moist than the Milani Color Perfect Lipsticks that I tried, but both formulas stayed on for a while, and wore off evenly.

I didn’t notice a ring of color around the edges of my lips when the color did wear off, which is always a good thing.

I tried the Color Perfect Lipsticks in Fuchsia Freeze, and Sexy Rose.

Fuchsia Freeze is fuchsia, so I had to make sure that I applied it with a light hand, but it is a beautiful color, and works with my pale skin.

Or at least I think it does - I just heard someone asking “Can anyone really wear fuchsia?” I hope I’m not one of those people who can’t - but thinks they can.

If I am - you’ll tell me, won’t you?

Sexy Rose and Lavish are similar in the swatches - why do I never notice that they are so similar until I have them side by side - but Lavish is a little bit more pink.

All 3 of the lipsticks have a slightly sweet scent, which I prefer to the normal lipstick smell.

Overall, I was really impressed with these lipsticks, and I won’t hesitate to try them again.

If you’ve tried these lipsticks leave a comment and let me know which ones your favorite.

Thanks!
