Do you ever read something that you just can’t believe, and you can’t wait to find out if it’s true?
I was reading a back issue of Shape Magazine (don’t you hate it when you subscribe to a new magazine and they send you two or three back issues?) and they had an article that said if you have a headache to imagine yourself eating a meal, and the headache will go away.
I think it would be interesting if it worked, but I’m not sure if I believe it will.
I haven’t had a headache since I read the article, but I did tell a couple of people with headaches that if you imagined yourself eating a meal the headache should go away.
They looked at me like I was crazy, and I don’t think they tried.
The next part of the article said to drink a cup of water if the food think didn’t help.
Would you be willing to try either of these methods?
Do you think they’d work?
In other news - Happy New Year!
I hope you’re having a great Holiday season.

I got Jane Iredale’s 24-Karat Gold Dust Shimmer Powder in Rose in the Beautyfix.
I was a little nervous about trying the gold dust on my eyes because if I use the wrong pinks or rose colors on my eyes I end up looking like I’m crying, but when I finally worked up the nerve to wear it it was a beautiful color.
The 24-Karat Gold Dust isn’t just an eyeshadow, it can also be used as blush or lip color, or mixed with moisturizer or hair gel for a little extra shimmer.
At times it does feel decadent to know that I have real gold in my makeup, so that’s kind of fun.
This is the first time that I’ve used Jane Iredale Cosmetics, and I had fun trying them.
I always love trying something new!
If you’ve tried the 24-Karat Gold Dust Shimmer Powder or if you have any other suggestions for ways to use them I’d love to hear them!
What do you think about using gold dust in your makeup?
Would that make you more or less likely to buy something?

green by nature lip polish review
I tried green by nature’s lip polish, $3.99, in terra cotta, and blush, a hot pink color.
Both lip polishes come in slender tubes, smell minty and leave my lips tingling for a few minutes after I apply them.
The lip polish lasts for a long time, and they stain the lips, so even when the lip polish is gone there’s still a slight hint of color so I don’t look like I’m not wearing any lip color at all.
These lip polishes are only available at certain Target stores.
green by nature lip glaze review
green by nature’s strawberry mint lip glaze, $4.99, is infused with peppermint oil for fresh breath and a cooling sensation.
It’s also clear, very tingly, very shiny, and it tastes like strawberry mint if you happen to get a little of it in your mouth.
The lip glaze comes in a squeezable plastic tube, and it’s nice to be able to apply the lipl glaze over lip color without worrying that the color will transfer to the wand and stain it.
green by nature lip butter review
I tried the green by nature lip butter, $2.99, in lavender vanilla.
I don’t consider myself a lavender van, but I enjoyed this lip balm.
It was nice, and moisturizing, and it’s also the only lip balm tube I’ve found that’s Scrappy proof.
That’s right - Scrappy got into my lip balm, and although there are some teeth marks on the tube he didn’t break the plastic or eat all of the lip balm.
I know it sounds bad, but I was pretty excited when I realized that!
Usually he destroys the tube and eats the balm.

I gave my mother-in-law a Garnier Fructis 3 minute mask that I got for free the last time that I purchased shampoo.
I already have the Sleek and Shine mask and it’s too heavy for my hair and leaves it looking limp and stringy, so I didn’t want to use the mask, but I didn’t want to throw it away either.
She just called and said that she was allergic to it and her face was all blotchy.
Oops.
Have you ever given some one a gift that didn’t work out the way you’d planned it?
What happened?

green by nature almond cocoa body wash review
The green by nature total body wash, $8.99, in almond cocoa also smells amazing.
I love almond scents, although I don’t like almonds.
Go figure.
I’ve used the total body wash for several weeks, and hardly any of the soap is gone because I only need a little bit to get my body pouf soapy.
The body wash smells good, rinses easily, and although I do need a little extra moisturizer on my legs in the freezing cold weather - the amazing smell of the green by nature banana shea body butter is sweet enough that I don’t mind.

I was really excited to try Chemistry Cleanse Daily Shampoo, which I got at Walgreens when it was free after rebate.
The shampoo is sulfate and paraben free, and it’s supposed to cleanse hair mildly.
Unfortunately, it’s a little too mild for me.
The shampoo didn’t lather at all, but it didn’t clean my hair either.
I have long fine hair, that’s oily at the roots and dry at the ends, and this shampoo left my hair so oily that it looked and felt like I hadn’t even washed it.
I was so disappointed.
My husband has thick, coarse hair that has to be thinned out because it’s so heavy, and the shampoo didn’t do anything for him either.
He usually ends up using all the shampoo and conditioner that I don’t like, but won’t use this one because he doesn’t like the fact that it doesn’t suds up.
The shampoo does have a nice mild pepperminty scent, but unfortunately that’s the only good thing that I can say about it.
If you’ve tried the Chemistry Cleanse Shampoo, I’d love to know what you think about it, especially if it worked for you.
I’d like to know which type of hair it works on.
Thanks!

green by nature lip scrub review

I tried green by nature’s lip scrub in mint green tea.
The scrub, which is only available at certain Target stores, is thick and smells minty fresh.
It also feels minty fresh, so if you use it on the area around your lips you’ll probably feel a little tingling, and a little oiliness.
This is the first lip scrub I’ve ever used, and I’ve found myself reaching for it repeatedly when I feel like my lips need a little more exfoliation.
Sure I can use a washcloth, or a toothbrush, but sometimes it’s fun to be pampered.
green by nature total body scrub review
The green by nature banana shea total body scrub, $9.99, has a fantastic banana scent!
I love it!
The scrub is mildly exfoliating, and is great if you just want a hint of scrubbiness.
The description says
“our uniquely formulated body scrub is full of natural and finely grounded exfoliates.”
and they mean finely ground exfoliates. I didn’t experience any scratching or harshness while I was using this scrub, although I do prefer a bit more scrubbiness in my body scrubs.
Both scrubs are 100% paraben free.
