As I’ve been sitting and watching the news this week, I’ve been disturbed.
Not because of all the drama that unfortunately seems to be an everyday occurance, but because of the stark black eyeliner one of my local news anchors is wearing.
Whenever I see her, I can’t help but think about her eyeliner instead of the news.
I also wear black eyeliner - although it’s wet eyeshadow, and now I’m worried that my eyeliner appears as dark as hers.
Fortunately, from my testing, it appears that it doesn’t.
If I’m three feet away from the mirror I can barely see my eyeliner - or my eyes for that matter :-).
However, even when the camera pulls away from the news desk I can still see the stark contrast of her eyeliner around her eyes.
Since she has fair skin and blonde hair the contrast is obvious, and all I’m seeing is the eyeliner.
I don’t notice any shadow or mascara.
I don’t know why it bugs me - maybe because it is so dark on the tv that I wonder what it looks like in real life, and maybe because I think she’d look younger and fresher if they liner was just a little lighter.
Either way, the makeup distracts me from what she’s saying.
Have you ever been in a situation where someone’s makeup distracted you from what they were saying or doing?
What happened?
Did you say anything about it?
I’m kind of a chicken - unless I knew the person really well, I probably wouldn’t say anything unless someone asked me for advice.
Would you?

It’s been a sad morning - DH filled out an application to foster an adorable puppy from Midwest Animal Rescue Services Puppy Rescue of MN as it says on the home page.
Since that’s the name, he figured he might have a chance since we don’t live in Minneapolis. After all, what kind of name is Midwest Animal Rescue Services for an agency that only adopts animals out to one city?
We read through the information and didn’t see anything that said they only adopted in the city, but some of the information - such as the foster parents had to meet with the adoptive parents, and take the dogs to vet appointments made me think that they’d only want the dogs in the city, but he wanted to try anyways.
Even though I knew we wouldn’t be able to foster Little Miss Sunshine I was still disappointed when he got the letter saying that foster parents had to be in the city.
Isn’t that silly?
I’m already working with Ratbone Rescues (that’s where I got Scooby and Scrappy) as a home visit coordinator, but I decided that Jeff should have a chance to choose an organization that he wants to work with too, and he thinks that Hunter would do better with a larger dog.
I think she would too - all three of the dogs can get a little too excited when they chase my mother-in-laws 6 pound dog around outside, although they are fine inside.
I guess we’ll keep looking and see what happens.
While we were looking up the city information on fostering dogs - we can foster 1-2 dogs or 1-2 cats but not both for a $25 yearly permit fee - we found out that we can have 4 dogs in the city instead of 3.
Three was the limit when we moved here, but I am not ready for another dog permanently.
Right now I’d rather help other dogs find their new homes.
Have you worked with dog rescues?
What are your experiences with fostering and adopting rescued dogs?

green by nature Almond Cocoa Body Lotion Review
I’ve been using green by nature’s body lotion, $9.99 for 8 oz, for so long that it’s almost gone.
The 100% paraben free and 96.6% natural body lotion has a sweet almond scent, and provides lasting moisture.
I’ve been using the body lotion mainly as a hand lotion, because I always apply lotion after washing my hands.
The lotion is a little thinner than the hand lotions I’m used to, so I was a little worried that it wouldn’t be moisturizing enough, but it was.
The scent is stronger when I first apply the lotion, but becomes more subtle with application, so I don’t have to worry about the scent overpowering any perfume that I’d like to wear.
green by nature Banana Shea Body Butter Review
green by nature Body Butter, $11.99 for 5 oz, is a delicous smelling thick body butter.
It’s also 100% paraben Free, and 97.6% natural.
I tried the banana shea fragrance and the body butter smells like a nice banana candy.
It’s so yummy.
The scent is strong when I’m applying it, but it’s not overpowering.
Since I like to wear a variety of fragrances, this is perfect for me.
