One thing leads to another

Monday, January 5th, 2009

The tiling project is finally starting in our upstairs living room.

The computer desk is still set up, but most of the other furniture from the room is downstairs or in our bedroom.

It’s a good thing we have a lot of space, or we wouldn’t be able to move!

Of course with all of our projects, when we start doing one thing we find out that we need to do something else.

Almost as soon as we started walking on the tile that was under the carpet we realized that the tile was really, really cold.

I knew it would be cold, but it’s so cold that it makes my jaw hurt (I have TMJ) even when I’m wearing socks.

So we are going to have to insulate the garage, since that is directly under this room.

Of course that’s something we should probably do anyways, so it’s nothing too unexpected.

We were hoping that we could have a little time between projects, but I don’t think that will happen with this one though - the floor is too cold.

Are you working on any home improvement projects now?

Tell me about them.

Someone came to look at our foster puppy

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

Someone came to look at our foster puppy today, and I think they are going to contact the rescue about taking him home for a 2 week trial period, which the rescue requires before dogs are adopted.

I think the other dog in their family will be more likely to play with Titus than my dogs are, and he’ll really enjoy that, but I’m going to miss him!

Happy New Year!

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

I wanted to take a moment to wish you and yours a beautiful new year!

I hope all of your dreams come true.

Jeff and I are still recovering from the colds we got after Christmas Dinner - only two of the people that were there escaped with their health - and no colds.

We should be back to normal in the next couple of days though, and then we can get to work tiling the floor in the upstairs tv room.

How exciting!

Titus is getting fixed on our anniversary, so I don’t know what we’ll be doing then, if he is coming home the same day then we’ll stay here, because I don’t want to leave him alone the day of the surgery.

I guess we’ll have to check on that -the rescue told us when he had to be there, just not when we’d have to pick him up.

Of course if we wanted we could have volunteers take him and pick him up, but fortunately we can do it.

Anyways, Happy New Year!
