Do you have a beauty schedule, where you do certain things on a certain day?
I definitely don’t.
I like masks, but I rarely get around to doing them - especially when Jeff is around, and he’s around most of the time in the morning, or at night when I would normally do a mask.
Seeing his look of horror when I walk out wearing a Queen Helene’s mint julep mask, which makes me look like a slightly darker version of the Jolly Green Giant, just takes some of the fun out of wearing a mask.
I got the Kronos Phyx Overnight repair mask in the first Beautyfix, and I still haven’t managed to review it, because I haven’t remembered to use it three times in one week.
I’m pretty bad about stuff like that.
So - do you have a beauty schedule?
Tell us about it!

I found the new Beautyfix on my stairs Saturday around 9 am.
I was pretty excited.
In this edition there are 12 items and each person gets 9 of the 12.
In my Beautyfix Kit, I got:
Sparitual Nail Lacquer in Airhead
Degree Women Body Mist in Classic Romance
Sparitual Instinctual Organic Moisturizing Lotion (travel size)
pur-lisse pur-lip comfort
Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray
Me! Bath Bath Ice Cream
IQ Derma Firmaceuticals Firming Body Gel
Decleor Instant Radiance Moisturiser (travel size)
Cures by Avance Age Defyer Eye
Stay tuned to see what I think about these products when I first start using them - although I won’t be using them all, the degree body mist just doesn’t smell good to me. I don’t like florals much.
What did you get in your beautyfix?
Is there anything you wish you’d gotten that you didn’t get?
I was really looking forward to the Sparituals polish, which I did get, and the Me Bath! Shower Sherbert, which I didn’t get.

Now that I’m pregnant I wonder when things should happen, and what it’s really like, so I thought I’d give you a little update.
Of course, it’s also nice to write it down so I’ll remember.
Since I was so sick felt so bad during the first trimester - I was so tired I had to rest after walking downstairs to put a load of laundry in the washing machine, and I was so nauseous, I told my husband he better hope I was having twins, because that was the only way he’d get two kids.
Now that a month or two has passed with me feeling better, it doesn’t seem so bad, but I still don’t see how I could have done it with kids. The dogs were enough work, and Jeff helped me so much when I didn’t feel well.
I discovered that crackers in the morning did not help me at all, but cheese stuffed crust pizza from Pizza Hut, followed by bagels and cream cheese when I got tired of pizza, were the only thing that I could eat in the morning.
Now I’ve graduated to honey nut cheerios.
Pregnancy has also taught me to listen to my body.
Everyone says if you’re tired while you’re pregnant, you need to rest, and my body decided to make sure I’d rest.
If I did too much, I’d vomit.
Gross, I know, but I’ve never heard of anyone with that side effect before.
I’m still not really having any cravings - other than Dairy Queen, but I don’t know how much that has to do with pregnancy, and how much that it has to do with the fact that I like Dairy Queen.
Although certain foods turn me off at certain times there’s nothing that really grossed me out, except for the time I tried to make scrambled eggs a few weeks ago.
I got the eggs in the pan, but actually cooking them almost made me sick, so I had to get Jeff to do it.
I’m gonna owe him a million home cooked meals by the time I have the baby :-).
I wore my first maternity clothes on July 4, at almost 23 weeks pregnant.
I can still fit into one pair of my regular jeans (I think, I haven’t tried them on today!), and my shirts, but I can’t fit into any regular shorts.
The family has been complaining because I wear loose clothes, and they can’t see my baby bump, so I had to wear something that would show it off at the Independence Day party.
I don’t think I’m going to be able to hide it for much longer, although I haven’t been trying to hide it - it’s just not that visible.
I had to run to the store yesterday to get a maternity belt. I’d never heard of such a thing before!
It has helped with the round ligament pain that’s showing up underneath my belly.
When I was just a few months pregnant it was on either side of my belly, felt like a side stitch, and only lasted a couple of minutes.
Now it lasts for a few days, and isn’t pleasant at all.
Jeff has been able to feel the baby for two weeks, but he hasn’t been able to feel her that much because when we can feel her on the outside, we can’t feel her on the inside.
He still says it’s really light, and he’s not sure if it’s me or her.
She moves a lot more when I’m riding in the car - I think it has something to do with the angle of the seat.
I still jump and get funny looks when I feel her, because she surprises me.
I’d be in trouble if she did that when I was driving, but she doesn’t too much.
Most days I’m feeling normal - I walked all over the Fargo Street Fair twice last week, but I don’t know how long I’ll be able to do that.
I’m having lots of fun looking at baby stuff, and trying to decide what I can make myself.
My mother-in-law is a wonderful knitter and crocheter, and she’s made some beautiful stuff for the baby already.
She made her a little orange had with very pale pink trim, and she’s making Jeff one that matches.
I’m not sure if she’ll use the pink trim on his, but they’ll look cute with it either way.
When I first saw the baby’s hat I asked if she was going to be that little - they told me it would probably be too big for her!
The hat is tiny!

My sister-in-law just called and asked if there were any colors that I wasn’t going to let me baby girl wear.
My response - camouflage.
I guess one of our cousins didn’t want their daughter to wear pink.
Are there any colors you wouldn’t let your son or daughter where when they were born, or after they got older?

I’ve been using Dr. Bronner’s Magic Almond Organic Liquid Soap for about three months now, and I have to say I wasn’t impressed at first.
I chose the soap because I wanted something without parabens in it, it smelled good, and I’ve always heard good things about Dr. Bronner’s magic soaps, so I was really surprised when I started using it and started getting dry, itchy skin.
At first I thought it was due to pregnancy, but when I switched back to my usual soaps, I didn’t have the problem.
About a month ago, I read that if the soap causes your skin to dry out you should dilute it with water, and since I’ve done that I haven’t had any more trouble with dry itchy skin.
I bought the 32 oz bottle from Target for about $14 or $16, I really can’t remember.
I definitely could have gone with a smaller bottle.
Even before I started diluting it I was hardly using any of the soap, so I’m sure this bottle will last me a couple of years at the rate I’m using it.
Now that I’ve learned to dilute the soap, I’m very happy with it.
I love the scent, it lathers well, both when it’s diluted, and when it isn’t, and it leaves me feeling clean.
Although this is a magic all in one soap, I’ve only used it as a body wash, so if you’ve used it in another way I’d love to hear about it.

Admittedly, it’s not the look most people are going for, although I know there are some who’d love to look older.
This morning I put on BE Fairly Light foundation, Jane blushing cheeks in blushing glow, and Cargo Plantlove in Sagamaratha.
Everything looked fine, but since the blush and lipstick are a little darker and warmer than the colors I usually wear, I decided to go for a darker shadow.
The first one I saw - literally, was foxy mineral makeup in Ginger Rose.
I wasn’t really sure if this was a blush or a shadow, (the fact that I wasn’t sure should have told me - it’s a blush, so don’t try this at home unless you’re sure it’s safe to use on your eyes) but I guess I was feeling a little rebellious and didn’t care, so I used it, along with foxy mineral makeup’s delicate shadow, which I love, love, love as a wash.
Delicate is perfect for when you want a hint of color without too much sparkle or obvious color, I wear it with almost anything when I don’t want to look too overdone.
After I got the shadow on, I looked in the mirror and thought “Man, I look older today.”
Since I look young anyways, it’s not a big deal for me, but I definitely don’t think I’d want to look older every day.
Have you noticed that certain makeup or certain colors make you look older, or younger?
Leave a comment and tell me about them.
PS Happy 4th of July to my US readers!

Can you believe it?
I made my first post on Mystical Beauty’s Musings on July 9, 2005.
I can’t believe it’s been so long.
I’ve had so much fun, and learned so much as a result of this blog.
Thank so you much for coming along for the ride!
I wouldn’t do it if it weren’t for you.
