Sparitual Nail Lacquer in Airhead
I was excited about this before I got my Beautyfix, because it is DBP, Toulene, and Formaldahyde free, so I don’t have to worry about using it while I’m pregnant. I’ve been wanting to paint my nails forever, but I don’t want to use anything if there’s a chance it might hurt the baby.
This is a very pale pink, and when I finally tried this polish on my toes, I was surprised because I couldn’t see any color.
To be fair - I only applied one thin coat, and I didn’t use a base or top coat because I don’t have any that I think are baby safe right now.
I was also 7 months pregnant at the time, and it was hard to get up close and personal with my toes.
The polish applied evenly, and I’m really not sure whether or not it chipped. I asked my husband how the polish looked after a week, and he couldn’t see any color, although I definitely noticed some when I finally got around to removing it.
When I applied the polish to my fingernails, I used a bit thicker coat, so it was a light opaque pink. I still didn’t use a top or base coat, and I ended up getting my hands wet an awful lot so the polish chipped within a day or two.
Of course, all the polishes I’ve tried on my fingernails have chipped within a day or too, regardless of which type of top coat or base coat I use, so that’s too be expected.
If you’ve tried Sparitual Nail Lacquer, or if you have a favorite top/base coat, or a polish that just doesn’t chip leave a comment and tell me about it.

I’ve been using Senna Cosmetics Silky Primer, ($38), and Barely Base Sheer Mineral Makeup, ($36) in Fair for about two weeks now.
I’m very happy with them so far.
I’ve been applying the Barely Base with CoverFX 130 Foundation Brush,($34) and I definitely like using the brush better than I like using my fingers - I’m able to build up the coverage a little more where I need to.
The Barely Base is the first mineral foundation that I’ve found that I like. It provides good coverage, the color is perfect for me, and it’s buildable without looking heavy.
I’ve tried this with and without the primer, and it does seem to last a little longer, and provide more coverage with the Silky Primer.
So far I haven’t had any breakouts or skin problems while I’ve been using the foundation, and I’m pretty happy about that.
I’ll keep you updated on how the Silky Primer and Barely Base are working after a month.
If you’ve tried them, I’d love to know what you think about them.

As I’ve mentioned before, I got the Me! Bath Ice Cream($8.50) in the last Beautyfix.
I’m not usually a big bath fan, I’m too impatient to sit in the bath for too long, but with this pregnancy I’ve been taken more baths to ease the little aches and pains that don’t seem to be eased any other way.
I was looking forward to a nice relaxing bath last night, so I decided that it was time to try the Bath Ice Cream.
I received the Sweet Peppermint, which is described as
“A wake-up call for both your body and mind. This ice cream scoop combines the cooling and stimulating effects of peppermint oil with the invigorating scent of grapefruit. Clusters of rock salt soften the water as you feel your skin rejuvenate.”
Doesn’t that sound wonderful?
Unfortunately, it wasn’t.
About a minute after I got into the tub with the bath bomb, I felt an unpleasant burning in my nether regions.
It seems like the peppermint oil, or something in the bath bomb was a little bit to much for my sensitive area.
Needless to say my nice relaxing bath bomb bath, turned into a nice relaxing bath sans bath bomb, after got the water drained, and new water placed in the tub.
The bath ice cream did fizz and melt quickly, and it left the water pink, and smelling nice and fresh.
My husband could smell the peppermint, and I could smell the grapefruit and the peppermint when I was in the bath.
There was one pink spot on the tub where something hadn’t dissolved all the way, but it cleaned up quickly, and it probably would have dissolved completely if I’d left the water in the tub for more than 5 minutes.
Even with the limited amount of time that I was in the water with the Me! Bath Ice Cream, I noticed that I was definitely moisturized - even after rinsing off and soaking in a bath of plain water.
I still felt a little extra moisture this morning, and I was pretty surprised about that.
I think if I’d tried a different variety of the bath ice cream, I probably would have had a better experience, but I’m not sure.
If you’ve tried Me! Bath Ice Cream I’d love to hear about it.
What kind did you try, and did you have any problems with it?

I’ve been using Milani’s Infinite Liquid Liner for about a week - I have mostly used Endless (purple) and Everlast (black) but now that I’ve swatched the Forever, a bronzish color, I’m looking forward to trying that.
Infinite Liquid Liner is a new smudge and smear proof, waterproof liner, that lasts for 24 hours.
The first thing that I thought when I heard this, was that I should use it when I’m giving birth, if I have enough time to put it on and if I feel like getting anything remotely sharp that close to my eyes while I’m in labor.
Of course I can just imagine what Jeff would say if I tell him I have to put on my eyeliner before I go to the hospital.
Although I haven’t worn the Infinite Liquid Liner for 24 hours yet, and I haven’t checked out it’s waterproof abilities, I have noticed that it’s definitely smudge and smear proof after it sets.
The swatches on my hand even looked perfect after I washed my hand and applied lotion to them several times.
Since I have deep set eyes I do have to make sure that the liner dries before my open my eyes all the way, or I’ll end up with mirror image eye liner above my crease, which isn’t pretty.
It’s been so long since I’ve used liquid liner that I was a little nervous about it, but it really wasn’t that hard for me to get a decent looking line. I guess all of that practice with powder shadows has paid off :-).
The colors are beautiful, and intense, but I have been able to vary the intensity of the colors based on how much I apply.
I was really surprised when I first tried the Eternal Liquid Liner - although it looks green in the tube, when I applied a thin layer it was almost yellowish, and a thicker layer produced a green color.
Although the liner definitely lasts, it’s easy to remove with makeup remover.
I really like these liners, and I’ll definitely be using them in the future.
If you’ve tried them, leave a comment and let me know which ones your favorite color, and what you think about them.

Senna Cosmetics Totally Transforming Lip Primer Review
I’ve been using Senna Cosmetics Totally Transforming Lip Primer ($26) for about a week and a half.
This is the first lip primer I’ve used long term, and I’m pleased with it.
I’ve been having trouble with some of my lipstick bleeding outside of my lip lines, and I’ve been having even more trouble keeping lip liner on - it usually is gone within a couple of hours, no matter what I do with it.
The Totally Transforming Lip Primer has solved that problem.
I apply a tiny bit of the lip primer to my lips before applying foundation, then add lip liner, and either lipstick or gloss.
Since the lip primer neutralizes lips and makes liner and lip color more true to their actual shades, I have found that I have to be careful with the colors I wear - some of the liners I have were too dark with the lip primer, so I thought for a minute that I would have to go out and buy another liner, until I found the Rimmel Exxagerate Liner in East In Snob in my makeup case.
Using the primer is the only way that I could get this liner to stay on.
I’ve used the primer and liner with my regular lipsticks, and with Senna Cosmetics Lip Lacquer in Rock Candy ($19), a “mega sparkling pink,” and both seemed to stay on longer and stay in the right place better with the lip primer.
Senna Cosmetics Lip Lacquer Rock Candy Review
I really enjoy the Rock Candy Lip Lacquer.
The color is a pale pink with tiny sparkling pieces of glitter that look pink and gold in the tube, but just look shiny when the lip lacquer is applied.
The lacquer only gives a hint of color and shine when applied, whether I use it on my bare lips, or with the lip primer and lip liner.
The lacquer is also slightly sticky, which I don’t mind, but which my husband doesn’t like.
If you’ve tried Senna Cosmetics Totally Transforming Lip Primer or Lip Lacquer, or if you’ve got any tips for wearing lip primer, leave a comment and tell us about it.

Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray
Although I did get this in Beautyfix, I received some to review about a week before I got Beautyfix.
I did ask to see if it was safe to use during pregnancy before I agreed to review it, and although it hasn’t been tested for pregnancy, none of the ingredients made me scared to try it.
So far it’s working great.
I’ve been using it with mineral foundation, once a day, and I’ll keep you updated on how it works after I’ve used it for a longer period of time.

pur-lisse pur-lip comfort
I don’t normally use squeeze tubes of lip balm, but I’ve been really impressed with the pur-lisse pur-lip comfort since I’ve been using it. My lips have been nice and moisturized, without feeling sticky. It’s also free of parabens, petrochemicals, color, fragrance, propylene glycol, phthalates, and animal cruelty.
