I’ve been getting a little bored with my old favorite Milani Luminous Blush, and I’ve been looking for a new one.
I knew I’d found it the first time I tried Aromaleigh’s Gothic Lolita Rouge, ($14.50) in Corset.
It is such a beautiful color - Aromaleigh describes it as a “A clear brilliant reddish rouge.”
I love that I can play with it and build the intensity of the color, without looking like I’m wearing too much blush.
It’s also great for those days when I just want a light touch of makeup.
I’ve been wearing Corset every day since I got it, so I just tried Rococo on today.
I was a little scared of it when I saw it in the sample baggie, because it’s peach, and I don’t usually have much luck with peach anything.
I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it and realized the color actually looks good on me.
Aromaleigh describes Rococo as “A clear sweet nectar-hued rouge. Not too peachy, this lovely color has a healthy dose of pink to make it a gorgeous neutral shade that will give your cheeks a naturally flushed appearance akin to that famed “O”.”
Of course since Milani Luminous is supposed to be a knockoff of Nars Orgasm as well, it makes sense that the Rococo would look good on me too.
I do think Rococo is a little bit more peach on me than the Luminous is, but I’ll definitely be wearing when i want something a little different from the Corset.

No, I haven’t forgotten to tell you that I’ve had a baby, but I have been using Johnson’s Head to Toe Fragrance Free Baby Lotion for about 4 months now.
I’d been looking for a paraben free hand lotion without an overwhelming scent, when I saw an ad for it in a baby magazine.
The next time I was at Target I found it, and got it.
The lotion is nice, although it’s not as moisturizing as my usual hand lotions, but I probably wouldn’t want to use something that moisturizing on a baby anyways.
I do have to reapply this a little bit more frequently than I apply most hand lotions, but that really isn’t a problem for me.
The lotion does have a slight fragrance, which I’ve never really noticed until just now, when I sniffed it so I could tell you if it had a fragrance.
Johnson’s Head to Toe Fragrance Free Baby Lotion doesn’t smell bad like some fragrance free products do.
My only problem with this lotion is that it’s really hard to open the flip top.
That might be great for you if you’ve got kids that you don’t want to get into the lotion, but even after using this for 4 months, I still have to use both hands to open the bottle, which can get rather annoying.
Just this morning my husband was laughing at me, because without thinking I placed the bottle of lotion on my belly so I could open it.
Other than these problems the lotion is great, and I love that it’s non scented.
I’ll definitely keep this around for me, and for the baby when she comes.

I’ve been using the Senna Cosmetics Totally Transforming Concealer ($24) in cool light for a couple of weeks.
The concealer is great at covering up my under eye circles, although I do have to make sure to use a moisturizer first.
The concealer applies smoothly as long as I have a moisturizer on, and it lasts all day on me.
The only problem I’ve had with it, is that it’s smaller than the Totally Transforming Lip Primer, and for some reason I think the lip primer should be smaller, so I’ve actually grabbed the lip primer and applied it to my eyes.
That’s more of a me not paying attention problem though, and not anything to do with the concealer.

I’ve heard it all before - when you’re pregnant your hair will be longer and thicker, your nails will grow faster and stronger, and you’re skin will glow.
Unfortunately, the only one of those that’s come true so far is the glowing skin, which unfortunately is due to excess oil production.
Of course I did have a friend say that I looked like I was glowing - then in the next sentence she said it was because my face looked fuller, which meant I was having a girl.
Of course she was right about the girl, but I’d already told her I was having a girl.
My face and hair were oilier during the first trimester - in fact excessively oily hair was one of the first pregnancy symptoms I had.
Of course I didn’t connect that with being pregnant until after I realized I was pregnant.
My hair is normal now - I don’t know if it’s due to a change in shampoo, or if it’s just evened out, and my skin is drier now.
Who knows what will happen after I have the baby.
I am very happy that I haven’t had any breakouts while I was pregnant, although some pregnant women do get pimples.
During my first trimester I didn’t feel like putting any makeup on - partly it was because I felt bad, and partly because I didn’t want any extra chemicals on my body during such an important stage of the baby’s growth.
During the middle of the second trimester though, I felt like wearing makeup again, so I resumed my normal makeup habits.
Every now and then I’ll wonder about something being ok for a mom to wear (like jet black liquid eye liner, which I hardly wore before I got pregnant), but that was worse during the first trimester, and isn’t so bad now.
I’ve always taken vitamins off and on, so I think that’s probably why I don’t see faster hair and nail growth.
Of course I have noticed that I’m shedding more than usual - or maybe I’m just noticing it more now.
During this pregnancy all the beauty bonuses have definitely been myths.

Having a baby is an exciting time.
All sorts of changes are happening, and we’re preparing to bring a new life into the world.
Although most people are happy for us, and want to experience the joys of pregnancy, I’m surprised that some people seem to want me to be miserable.
For at least a month, the first thing my mother-in-law said every time she spoke to me was “Have you puked yet?” No, I hadn’t puked, but I was still so sick at the time that her asking me if I puked made me want to puke.
Of course I didn’t tell her that, because I figured it would make her happy.
I actually told a few people (with her sitting right there) that I thought she would have been pretty disappointed if I didn’t puke.
She kept that up for a while, and then when I did start puking, she’d tell me how lucky I was because her daughter puked during her whole pregnancy, and puked while she was at work.
Who cares? I knew all of this already, and the only reason I told her I puked ws because she asked.
I wasn’t complaining because I was puking, but I wasn’t going to lie to her and say I didn’t puke when I did.
After that stage, she started asking if the baby was moving enough to keep me up all night, and when I said “No,” she gleefully said “She will.”
So far, it still hasn’t happened yet, (and she finally quit asking) and I hope it doesn’t.
I’m having enough trouble sleeping, because I can’t get comfortable, I don’t need the baby to add to the problems.
I can see asking about the baby, or asking if the baby is moving yet, but why constantly ask if I’m puking, or if the baby’s keeping me up all night?
What purpose does it serve?
I don’t think that I’m such an evil daughter-in-law that she wants to see me miserable, but who knows?
