I’ve been looking forward to reading Beauty Confidential by Nadine Hoabsh since I found out that she was writing a book.
I started reading Nadine’s blog after she was fired from one job, and had a job offer from Seventeen magazine rescinded after being outed as the writer of the blog Jolie in NYC. Sounds like a bad day, right?
I really enjoyed reading Beauty Confidential, even though it took me forever to get enough peace and quiet so that I could enjoy reading it.
As a former beauty editor, Nadine focuses on the wide world of beauty, including skin care, hair care, hair removal, and perfume, so if you have a narrow definition of beauty, there might be a few chapters that you want to skip.
Don’t.
There’s lots of good stuff to learn in the book, and you’ll probably find something that you need to know, and didn’t know you need to know it.
For example, I learned that the Burt’s Bees Buttermilk lotion that came in the set I gave my Sister-in-law for Christmas is good for ezcema. Who knew?
I really loved that Nadine named names of the products she recommended -and was honest enough to tell us when she didn’t like certain products that other people loved.
Beauty Confidential also provides price ranges for all of the products mentioned in the book, and information about where to purchase them.
Trust me, that’s very important when you read about a must have product, and you can’t find it anywhere!
If you’ve read Beauty Confidential, I’d love to know what you think, if you haven’t you can purchase it below.
