I never could stand not washing my face at night.
It always felt oily and greasy and gross.
And then…
I moved to Minnesota.
It’s a lot easier to convince yourself that you need to wash your face at night when you can turn on the water faucet and instantly have tepid water that quickly warms up.
It’s a lot harder to convince yourself that you need to wash your face when it’s -22 outside, and it takes at least a minute for the ice cold water coming out of the faucet to warm up enough to use it on your face without risking broken capillaries or just plain freezing to death.
I’ve been trying to do it anyways, but I have to admit there have been a couple of times when I haven’t washed my face at night because the water is just too cold.
And so far there have been no ill effects.
Do you ever skimp on washing your face?
I’m sure if I’d tried to skip a face wash when I was younger and had oiler skin I would have had some pretty bad side effects.
Fortunately, I’m not having that problem now, but I really am going to start washing my face every night.

Sarah, I can’t imagine it being -22 degrees. I probably would try to sneak by without washing my face, too. Where I live now, it take the hot water a long time to heat up. With the drought we have had you just feel like you are wasting so much water! it has rained for the past few days, so I don’t feel so guilty about washing my face anymore. Someone told me once that your face ages 13 days everytime you go to bed without thoroughly cleansing your face. I afraid to disprove them!!!

I know what you mean, I do feel bad because I’m wasting a lot of water waiting for it to heat up, but I don’t want permanent broken cappilaries from the cold water either, so vanity wins.
Wow, I can’t believe it ages your face 13 days every time you don’t wash your face.
I better start washing my face before I get too old.
