Do you retry your makeup?

June 17th, 2008

Do you go back through colors that didn’t work for you a while ago, and see if they work for you now?

I have a pile of lipsticks that may work well with a certain liner, or a certain gloss, but don’t look right on me by themselves.

Every so often I’ll grab one of those and see how it looks by itself.

Oddly enough, some of them look great on me when I try them on, and I can’t remember why I didn’t like them in the first place.

Do you give lippies and other makeup another chance, or do you toss them out on their ears as soon as you decide you don’t like them?

In other news, you’ve probably noticed that I have been having blog problems since Friday, when I tried to upgrade wordpress for the second time.

Can you believe that 2 backups failed, and I had to rely on a backup for the end of May to get the blog working properly?

I did lose some posts, so if you see something that was here and isn’t please let me know, and I’ll see what I can do to repost it.

I think that I’ve rewritten everything that was lost, but the site was crawled during the mess, so I can’t rely on the cache.

I’ll have to try to upgrade it later, so wish me luck so that I can get everything working right, without much downtime.

They do say third times a charm!

If they don’t work for me once, they don’t get a second chance!

Jessica - I always try a few things the first time I wear something - if I bought it I normally really like it, so I want to wear it.

I always give them another try. Otherwise, it is just money wasted. They may work better with different color of clothes.

I’m really sorry you are having problems with you backups!

    Thanks Sarah II.

I have noticed that changing clothes can change your looks.

I don’t usually put on the clothes that I wear out until after I’m ready to leave the house so I don’t get dog hair on them, so I’ve noticed that changing shirts can make my makeup look to dark or too light.

I usually don’t throw out my makeup colors that don’t work because I feel bad for wasting money lol.

Lydia, I feel the same way!

If I know someone who will use them I don’t mind giving it to them, but I feel bad giving people I don’t know used makeup although there were some posts on freecycle giving away used makeup, and a lot of people requested it.

I might try that next time I have enough to give away.
