Etailers Mall Updates

Hi! I’ve added a bunch of new etailers to Etailers Mall, and I’ve moved the blog to Etailers Mall Blog.

I still need jewelry and makeup etailers, so if you know them send them my way!

The forums, as always are there, and need some posters.

I’m still working on the Etailers Mall yahoo group as well.

We actually had some conversation on the Mystical Beauty Group today. I’m so excited

But I gotta go - DH got off work really early - he’s home now and he was supposed to get off at 5 am.

Etailers Mall Revisited

Well, I have to decided to give Etailers Mall another chance. While I have been looking for ways to advertise Mystical Beauty I ran across a ton of sites selling advertising. And there weren’t too many of them that were relevant to shopping at home, or beauty sites

I decided that I am going to try to sell advertising on Etailers Mall, instead of giving it away for free. I have read so many things lately saying that if people have to pay for something, they will value it, but if you give it away for free, they won’t. And hey, you never know, it might even make enough to at least pay the hosting bills

I probably will not have enough time to start selling advertising space until the middle of Feb, because my husband is finally coming home! I am so excited! And I want to be able to give the site and the advertisers the attention they deserve.

I did make a new wordpress blog, hosted on the wordpress site, you can find it at Etailers Mall Blog.

The new blog will allow paid advertisers to post a little more info about their website, and it will allow consumers and advertisers to reply to and post comments.

I am very excited about this, and I hope that with all the new info about how search engines love blogs this will help out the advertisers out as well.

I am also not using a blog on the Etailers Mall domain for this because I think it will help to have links pointing from 2 different domains pointing at the other site.

It will also allow me to leave the blog up if I do decide that I’m not going to renew my hosting on the Etailers Mall site.

PS, I think I am going to go through and ad some of the current Etailers Mall advertisers to the blog, that way there will at least be some content on the site

Goodbye Cruel World!

After thinking this over for several weeks, I’ve decided what I pretty much knew all along. Etailers Mall is closing.

I’ve been sad since I wrote the article in the forums this afternoon, and that suprised me. It’s hard to say goodbye to something that I’ve worked so hard on, but I don’t have the time to give it the attention that it needs, and I will have a lot less time next year Yay.

I can’t bear to do this again tonight…in fact I’m about to fall asleep now, but I have to do this tonight, so I won’t have to think about it as much in the morning, so I am just going to quote from the announcement I put in the Etailers Mall forums.

I am sad to announce that I will be closing the Etailers Mall website. It’s just not doing what I want it to, and I don’t have time to effectively promote it, since my goal was to provide free advertising, and a community of users who cared about etailers.

As always you can visit the Mystical Beauty Forums and discuss etailers there - bath and body, and cosmetic etailers should be discussed in the beauty forums, and everything else can be discussed in the life forums…unless they need to be discussed in the love forums

I would like to thank all of you for your support at this time.

If by any chance you are interested in buying the site, or the domain name, please feel free to email me, or pm me here or at the Mystical Beauty forums.

I will be closing the chat room and the calendar today to free up space for upgrades to Mystical Beauty.

I have been looking for a good topsites list for a while, and I think I have finally found one. I am planning on adding all of the bath/body/candle/cosmetic/jewelry links that are already listed on etailers mall to the topsite list before I finally close Etailers Mall down.

Etailers Mall has it’s own toolbar!

Unfortunately I have uninstalled the effective brand toolbar. I had 2 occassions where the toolbar took over my screen, opening at least 30 new windows on one occassion. IMHO this is completely unacceptable behavior.

When I wrote the company, they said there was a bug in that version of the toolbar, and all I had to do was download it and I wouldn’t have any trouble anymore. The thing is, I had reinstalled the toolbar the day before, and then I had the errors again.

Even if they had updated the version of the toolbar, which I am not sure they did, I think they should have notified it’s users that there was a bug in that toolbar. After all, if people are using their toolbar to promote their websites, and they are guaranteeing that the toolbar is adware and spyware free, when the toolbar starts opening 30 pages in someones window, the person who is promoting the toolbar is going to lose credibility. And that is not acceptable.

I ran across Effective Brand while searching the web, then got a newsletter about the toolbars being good, and spyware free, and effective, so I figured I’d try it. It’s going to be pretty cool. Right now I am planning on having an Etailers Mall site of the day, that will go out everyday. I will also be able to send messages to everyone if there is a sale or a party going on that day. I will definitely not abuse the priviliges though!

I have a radio with preset stations, and you can also add your own stations-the only problem is you just have the call letters for most of the stations, so you have no idea what kind of music they play until you listen to it.

I also have a search engine (they get their revenue from sponsored results from the search engines, so the toolbar is completely free to download) they do offer to let you plug your code in so you can get some of the money from the search engine results too. I also have it set up so that the Etailers Mall logo is displayed on the search engine results page.

I do have the Etailers Mall logo on the toolbar, and if you click on that it takes you to the homepage. I should probably change it so it goest to the mall though.

I also have a link to the forums there.

And I have my very own toolbar chatroom, which is interesting since I was thinking about putting up a chatroom on Etailers Mall.

And I have the RSS feed that allows me to contact everyone with the toolbar.

There are a few other things that you can put on there, and you can also customize it and add links to certain programs after you download it.

The toolbar fits right underneath the google toolbar so it’s pretty cool. Just so you know…I’m pretty paranoid about downloading stuff. I just downloaded the google toolbar today. LOL. But I really do think this is safe.

This is kind of fun. My very own toolbar I’m off to play some more!

Business Help

I made another blog! This is it I hope. I decided that it would be easier to keep the White Lily Blog and the Business blog separate, so that way you would only have to read about the stuff you want too. So from now on I won’t be posting too many business resources here, unless they are really exciting. I will also be moving some of the old posts from here over there, so they will all be in one place. I might still leave them here too, I haven’t decided yet.

Etailers Mall Has Arrived

The new and improved version of Etailers Mall has arrived! After waiting a week for the web designer to contact me and answer the questions I had last week, or to update me on his progress fixing the dodosmail so it would work I decided I would do it myself. That did not work. LOL, I finally ended up using another program. I think part of the problem with dodosmail is that the web designer had templates up, and he had stuff that needed to be filled in, but I didn’t know what it was.

I changed all of the file names for SEO purposes, but I still have to do the metatags and titles. I am so tired I keep making dumb mistakes (like writing metagats instead of metatags. I also need to find more etailers to list their site - come on it’s free advertising - and I need to change the forum colors, that seagreen is just clashing with the pink and purple of the new design.

Well, I’m off to talk to my baby, then I’m going to bed!
