I’m still using the proactive, but I’m not sure how I feel about it.
My face is clear, but it was pretty clear before I started using it.
I did start a purging period about a week ago - so 3 weeks after I started using it, and I’m still in it. I’m going to give it a little more time to see how it works.
I did miss the warning that this would bleach everything - I should have known, but I forgot, so I ruined 2 shirts, and a couple of towels.
The phamplet that came with the proactive also said it might bleach your hair, but I haven’t had trouble with that fortunately.
Well, I’m off to work.
Leave a comment and let me know about your experiences with proactive!

Your site is great! Thanks for all the info. I am a writer for Beauty Secrets 101 and recently posted a blog about foundation and was wondering what you brand you would suggest? What do you look for when you buy foundation? Thanks!

Hi Sharon, thanks for the compliments!
This is long, so I am going to break it down into 2 parts.
Part 1, What brand of foundations would I suggest.
I’m having a love/hate relationship with Bare Escentuals right now. Some days it works great for me, and other days it doesn’t.
Suprisingly when I was in on vacation in MN in January, it worked better for me than my liquid foundations did.
I also like Maybelline’s Age Rewind Foundation, and if I had to go out and buy a new foundation today, that is the foundation I would be most likely to get.
I am currently testing Revlon’s Colorstay Makeup with softlex and spf 6 for combo/oily skin. I’ve only used it for a few days, but it seems to be working well.
I also used Almay’s Clear Complexion Blemish Healing Makeup for several weeks, and I was pleased with it.
I didn’t notice it healing any blemishes, or making any effect, but I did stop using it because I was worried that the .6 salicylic acid in the foundation would be too much for me in combination with the proactive I am using.
I personally would not recomment physicians formula mineral wear, although I know a lot of other women love it. I found that it wears off very quickly, does not provide enough coverage, and makes my face look oily. If I cover it with some BE’s mineral veil it helps a little, but not much.
Part 2, What I look for in a foundation
I have oily, acne prone pale skin, so I am always looking for a noncomedogenic foundation, in a very pale color! It can be pretty hard to find.
I usually prefer liquid foundations, as I’ve found that creme to powders, pancake, and mousse foundations such as Maybelline’s Dream Matte Mousse just don’t work well on my skin.

Thanks for the great info on my site about foundation! I found it very helpful. By the way, I think the rate my makeup idea is fantastic. It sounds like a lot of fun. I want to keep an eye on this one!
